With CVE-2026-18963, a critical flaw was found in the reset-credentials flow of the keycloak-services, which allows an unauthenticated attacker to force the password reset process for any user without needing to click the required email verification link. This can result in the attacker gaining full control over target user accounts by directly setting new credentials.
This affects all Mindbreeze InSpire appliances that have version 26.5 or older installed.
With the Mindbreeze InSpire 26.5 HF3 and 26.6 Release the vulnerability will be fixed.
For older Mindbreeze InSpire installations, the vulnerable functionality can be disabled with the steps presented in the following chapters.
The following steps should be performed on all member nodes of a Mindbreeze InSpire cluster:
Open “Realm Settings” / Login and disable “Forgot password”If correctly deployed, the “Forgot Password?” Link should not be available in the login window.
Forgot password: Disabled
